MonViolon

I am Florent, a French musician who lives in Estonia. For a few years now, I have lived in a little house on the edge of the forest with my family and my violins. I share this experience in (free/libre) pictures on Mastodon (the social network).

I propose on opentrad.net collections, recordings and videos under Free Art license (CC BY-SA compatible). There are mostly popular (traditional) music for dancing and music for learning the violin.

I make people dance in "bal folk", I play and make people play "trad" around me, I try to organise jam sessions with beginners. I would like to let people know that we can all make music in the same way as we speak, and that everyone has beautiful things to say, even without professional virtuosity.

• 7 years of posts, which I hope are fresh and sweet, featuring countless photos of nature, the garden and everyday life in Estonia.

I use only free software and I publish under a Free Art license.

Why am I on Liberapay for?

After more than twenty years of teaching the violin, I ended up teaching "classical violin with piano accompaniment" in Estonia. I was marking papers and setting exams. It was pretty much the opposite of my idea of the joy of learning. So I decided to stop and look for other avenues: craftsmanship (flutes and whistles) and… popular music publishing: your donations allow me to take the time to write, draw, compose, record… these freely usable musical and educational resources (and pay the bills associated with these activities).
