I love building Internet infrastructure, and hate making people pay for it, so I tend to give it away for free. This includes projects like the Fremont Cabal Internet Exchange the NS-Global Anycast DNS service and the FCIX Software Mirror Constellation.

The software mirrors are the project which is motivating setting up this account because it has higher hardware costs than previous projects. We are building small web servers, loading Linux distributions on them, and then shipping them out to data center hosts to plug them into the Internet and have us do all the hard work for them of managing the server and make sure that they're still pumping out Linux updates.

Donations to this account go towards purchasing and deploying more free software Micro Mirrors. With each new server deployed, software downloads online will get a little bit faster.
