Nate (born in 1981 in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania) is a contemporary painter based outside Atlanta in the United States. He works primarily with oil on canvas, incorporating raw materials such as pigment dust and charcoal, and is best known for abstract fields of color that evoke ethereal often otherworldly landscapes and settings.
His work explores the liminal space between concepts such as ‘what is knowing’, a mass, and horizons vs a terminus. His paintings reflect his upbringing among blue‑collar craftsmen and a family tradition of repairing and tinkering. This background informs his use of non-traditional textural materials and layered surfaces. Notable projects include a series of medium‑scale canvases that investigate the contrast of light, depth, and blended color fields.
Nate's work has been collected by individuals as well as private institutions and was featured in a senior art exhibition during his college years.
