Support LAB-66: A Belarusian bastion of independent scientific thought

LAB-66 is an independent Belarusian science communication project founded in 2019 by chemist Siarhei Besarab. The project is dedicated to making science accessible.

Now it is the largest Belarusian-language science popularization channel on Telegram, with over 19,000 readers.

The project primary focus on:

• Chemistry: In-depth explanations of chemical concepts and their practical applications.
• Civil Safety: Practical guides and information on personal safety, first aid, and emergency preparedness.
• Radiological Protection: Critical analysis and public education on radiation safety, nuclear energy risks (including the Astravets Nuclear Power Plant), and the consequences of deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus.

About the Founder

Siarhei Besarab is a Belarusian chemist, inventor, and science journalist. For his public activism and critical analysis of state policies, he faced political persecution, was dismissed from his position at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and was forced to flee the country in 2023.

Despite these challenges, he continues his work on LAB-66 from the European Union, remaining a prominent voice in science communication and a vocal advocate for academic freedom and transparency in science.
